Landscape Lighting
In my belief nothing accents a lawn better than landscape lighting. There are various forms of landscape lighting choose from, with prices that are in a large range as well. One of the nice things about landscape lighting is the flexibility that you have when designing it. You can choose to go to your local hardware store and purchase a very inexpensive landscape lighting or depending upon your taste and budget choose a general contractor to design then construct and complete your landscape lighting effect.
Recently I was redesigning my front lawn and I decided to include some landscaping lighting for affect. I headed off to my local Wal-Mart and found some excellent inexpensive LED landscape lights to accent my front deck. It created a really nice effect with a newly painted deck as well as the rock that we put in the front of the house. All in told, I only spent about $20. For the cost though, the effect is really nice. For about the first three or four hours of darkness, the lights light up and had a really nice accents to the lawn.
An added bonus to landscape lighting, it’s a theft deterrent. They are not as bright as spotlights, but they do shed enough light to give potential thieves second thought to our house. If the batteries within the lights were a little more powerful, then the lights could be brighter and last longer. No doubt that will be an upgrade next year lights.
All in all though, I’m very satisfied with the effect that they create. Landscape lighting definitely gives your lawn that extra something after nightfall.
Another great option about landscape lighting, our lights that are powered by your electrical house power. These landscape lights are definitely brighter than their LED cousins but do involve much more work during installation. Underground wiring will need to be run between the lights, to supply the power. Fortunately these lights are the low-voltage variety, and do not require an electrician. We must keep in mind the effects of frost. If the wires are not buried deep enough, frost can crack the wiring.
So where the you choose LED landscape lighting or electrically powered landscape lighting, it can provide a really nice effect for your lawn at night.
